Hindi film actress Shabana Azmi speaks about director Shyam Benegal and her first film Ankur. She says " It was strange how I got the role really because I just passed out of the film institute and I had signed couples of films I remember and then there was a call from Shyam's assistant saying that he wanted to see me for a particular part I didn't know who Shyam Benegal was. But I remember Rishikesh Mukherjee had called me up around that time and I asked him who he was? And he said just go ahead and do the film because he is wonderful documentary film maker and I am sure he will really do it well. "I didn't know who Shyam Benegal was!"
