Delhi Study Group celebrates Dev Anand's 50 glorious years in Indian cinema, on 17th October 1995, in New Delhi. The audience and organizers seem to deify Dev Anand to such an extent that they are getting over-excited, screaming and getting panicky over the event. Dev Anand walks in with typical swagger and an exaggerated sense of arrival, being the suave showman that he was. He waves his hat and drives everyone crazy: "It's an attitude of mine. How many hits do you have in a year - one or two?!" The event feels like a fish market with the crowd behaving in a typical terrible Delhi fashion. Vande Mataran is then sung.
