From the archive record

The Gujarat state tableau proceeds along Rajpath, now known as Kartavya Path, during India's Republic Day parade on 26 January 2019 in New Delhi. The decorated float features a sculpture depicting Mahatma Gandhi as a child and a structure modelled on Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, his birthplace. The word “गुजरात” is displayed on the front of the tableau. Spectators watch from packed grandstands on both sides of the parade route, while security personnel stand along the road. The Indian national flag flies beside the ceremonial avenue during the parade.
