Amol Palekar says "I think it is only befitting that this kind of retrospective is held particularly when we are celebrating 100 years of cinema. As it was this very soil where it all began for Indian Cinema." Amol Palekar was born on November 24, 1944, in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India. He is an actor and director, known for The Village Had No Walls (1995), Kairee (1999) and Gol Maal (1979). Was directing and acting in a Hindi film titled "Footpath " for a producer named Mr. Mehta. This was in 1983. The producer decided to step into directing the film himself. Amol Palekar walked out of the film.
