It was in 1960 that a group of young people in Calcutta got together and founded Nandikar a theatre group with a resolve to produce good meaning plays. In the process, reaching out to the masses not only in Bengal but across the nation and the world. in its long journey of 39 years, Nandikar has flourished, weakened even split and then revived.
