Protima Bedi, Model turned Odissi dancer speaks about her experiences. She says, "I used to be a model and a very famous one then I was married to Kabir Bedi and I had two children I was about 26 years old I have dressed appropriately in the halterneck and tight jeans and strict hair pink and blue to go to a fashion show and rock concert I walked into a wrong theatre and I saw this dance I have never heard of Odissi I have never seen it I had no idea it existed and this is what is going on in the stage, I just sat there for two hours and I knew I'd come home. The next year I flew to Orissa with oil in my hair and a saree and a blouse and sat at the feet of my Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. It took some time for him.
