Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee invites the medal winner Indian athletes to Prime Minister's residence. The Chief of Olympic Union Suresh Kalmadi has already announced the reward for the winners but Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has increased the amount of the reward. five lacs for gold medalists, three lacs for Silver medalists and two lacs for the Bronze medalists. The amount is enough for individual players but for the team, it is very low. Indian hockey player Dhanraj Pillay speaks about the reward announced by the Prime Minister, he says, "The players should respect the reward money announced by the Prime Minister but it is not enough for team game winners.
