Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen speaks about staying in Calcutta, he says, "I must tell you that by birth I am not a Calcutian, I came to Calcutta when I was 15 years old and the very day I came to Calcutta I fell in love with Calcutta for very many reasons. I was deadly scared of Calcutta being in a sprawling city and I was also deadly loved Calcutta for the simple reason that I felt I was very close to the world hat was it and in addition to that I had my sort of association with the political activities in those days and as a student I couldn't escape, I had to take part in the political activities and since then I was awed by Calcutta a kind of reverential fear. Over the years a lot of things had gone by and as I see that Calcutta acts both as an irritant and as a stimulant for me. I get i
