The Varuna Inn Hotel, is a resort on the ECR, located in Devaneri near Mahabilapuram. It is one of a group of hotels in Mahabilapuram, which stands out for several reasons. Firstly it stands out as one of the boutique hotels in Mamallapuram. A few words about Mahabilapuram itself: it is a very charming town, with fifteen centuries of history behind it, going back to the Pallava kings. The main attractions are the ancient sculptures and the sculpture shops selling sculptures from people trained in the government sculpture college (also on the ECR, closer to the town).
