Women of the J&K or Kashmir Police force in Srinagar, India. As Maruti Gypsy cars and scooters do the rounds of the city, Srinagar police forces turn back residents from a tense part of the city. A car boot is opened and checked for bombs or other dangerous objects. The policemen carry lathis or wooden staffs, in this day and age of high tech warfare. The women have hard hat helmets.
