The armoury is being shifted to make way for the Bengaluru-Mysuru Express Line. A new station for Srirangapatna will also be set up. The shifting of the armoury has not been an easy task. Built with lime, stone and mortar which has been lined and compacted with a mixture of eggs, jaggery and soapnuts had made the armoury the toughest in the history of such buildings, making it impenetrable.
