Indian Army's head General Bipin Rawat reviews parade on the 70th Army Day in Delhi. Army General Bipin Rawat at the Army Day parade at the Cariappa Parade Ground in the national capital. The nation celebrates the 70th Army Day to remember the valiance and exemplary achievements of Army personnel who risk their lives for the nation. Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year to mark the day when (then) Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over from General Sir Francis Butcher as Commander-in-chief of India on January 1949. A galore of events took place on the occasion of Army Day celebrations, which also included the wreath-laying ceremony in memory of the officers who lost their lives in various battles.
