Leech seen in southern Bhutan as early as March

If it rains early, then the chances of seeing leeches around the edges of thick forests, along streams and in moist ravines around tropical areas becomes rather common, especially in the eastern and southern parts of Bhutan. You would be able to see leeches even near your house, school, or hospital during the hot summer months, if it is warm and moist. You would not expect any leeches in the northern and western parts of Bhutan, however. This is a small early season leech moving around my gum boot at Gelephu, Bhutan.
