Group of Mizos wearing mask are taking out the silk worm from cocoons at Zemabawk, Mizoram. They are using blade to cut the cocoons as cocoons of silkworm are very hard. Sericulture is an agro-based industry. It involves rearing of silkworms for the production of raw silk, which is the yarn obtained out of cocoons spun by certain species of insects. Mizoram emerge as one of the known producer of silk in India. Mizoram is one of the states of Northeast India with Aizawl as its capital city.
