Picking up the broken pieces... A big thumbs-up to hope and hard work! Alluvial silt has made its way into this home, but this family is luckier than many others. Their home still stands after the cloud-burst and deluge. They assiduously clean out the silt from their kitchen, hoping to return to life as normal. A pressure cooker sits nearby, frozen in time with a meal half-cooked, silt covering it to the top. The Himalayan tsunami or Uttarakhand Floods have been devastating to the Garhwal region.
