Jama Masjid is a grand 17th-century congregational mosque located in the historic core of Agra. Built primarily from red sandstone with accents of white marble, the structure stands elevated on a raised plinth, enhancing its prominence. The mosque features three large onion-shaped domes adorned with distinctive herringbone patterns created through white marble inlay. The main prayer hall is defined by a central chamber beneath a domed roof, approached through deep Persian-style archways known as pishtaqs. These architectural elements reflect a blend of Mughal design principles, combining symmetry, scale, and intricate detailing. The structure remains an important example of historical religious architecture in Agra.
