Trade in feathers or other body parts of the Indian Peafowl is banned as per Schedule One of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. Schedule 1 species are accorded the highest level of protection. Hence, this sale of peacock feathers on Delhi's streets is completely illegal. Yet, the trade continues unabated.
