The atmosphere is a buzz of swarms of locusts and the buzzing sound in the urban areas. High rise buildings and the surrounding areas are full of locust. Locals are seen trying to scare the locusts away by banging utensils. Locusts swarms invaded northern India in the middle of 2020 just before the monsoon. The locust swarms are responsible for crop damage in various agricultural districts of the Northern Indian states. The sky can turn dark when the Biblical prophecied locust swarms attack, as they did in May and June 2020, across north India, wiping out large tracts of agriculture and orchards.
