This is surely one of the most ignored monuments of ours in Delhi! The Jantar Mantar, also a logo of the Asian games of 1982, is an equinoctial sundial, consisting of a gigantic triangular gnomon with the hypotenuse parallel to the Earth's axis, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur, from 1723 onwards, revising the calendar and astronomical tables.
