From tail wagging to grazing the fields for food, the one-horned rhinoceros is a beautiful animal one must not miss. They can be seen enjoying a bath in the pond at Kaziranga. The diverse wildlife at Kaziranga gets a beautiful environment for different animals to co-exist. The herd of elephants graze the elephant-grass meadows for food. All those who have thought Indian one-horned rhinoceros only existed in Jurassic-era, then a trip to Kaziranga is a must for them. Dense forests is home to more than 2200 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, approximately 2/3rd of their total world population. Elephants live in a matriarchal family group of related females called a herd. They are led by the oldest and often largest female in the herd. Herds consist of eight to 100 individuals.
