A beautiful invocatory dance performance choreographed by Srimati Nivedita Partha Sarathi during the Pongal Harvest festival at Tamil House in New Delhi. Bharatnatyam is one of the ancient dance forms and its history dates back to very early days when this art was performed in temples or by apsaras to entertain the court artisans. As in any other classical dance, the art of bharatnatyam can also be broadly divided into two parts - Bhava or Rasa and Nritya or Jathi. Further it is subdivided into different forms, one of which is Pushpanjali . Pushpanjali is an offering of flowers to Indian Gods.
