I welcome you to this gathering which inaugurates its series of symposia the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation is organizing through the year of my Late husband's 50th birth anniversary. these meetings promised to be a fascinating experiment. The recounting of history by those who were either directly involved or witnesses its making. Our objective is to create a detailed oral chronical this time compiling such a record which is new to our experience but we believe it will contribute to an understanding as my late husband's concern as Prime Minister. Most of those are taking part are formal political colleagues and associates, advisors or government officials who worked closely with him to make the record comprehensive.
