In this video interview, a man explains how the surrender process of dacoits evolved over time, particularly during the early initiatives associated with Vinoba Ji. He describes how the first major surrender was negotiated directly with the Central Government, and specific terms and conditions were agreed upon as part of that arrangement. The state authorities subsequently implemented those agreed provisions. According to him, the surrendered dacoits were provided special rations and were kept in open jails rather than conventional closed prisons. Certain facilities were arranged for them, and there was even a proposal to conduct court hearings within the jail premises to streamline the legal process.
