Kids and young boys of Sikh Community wear Turban. The elder boys help younger boys in wearing turban at Shri Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Tagore Garden in New Delhi. The kids wear Patka in their early age to protect their uncut hairs till the age of 15 to 16. When the length and volume of uncut hairs gets to a stage where their management is tough they wear patka. Sikhs do not cut their hairs as respect towards God and the Turban protects their heads from dust. the people from high class used to wear turban and many high status individuals still wear turban. The high class turban wearing individuals were called Sardars (leaders). This segregated people from high and low classes.
