Wagah Border – The Berlin Wall of Asia The Wagah Border is a strategic point for India and Pakistan through which the controversial boundary demarcation line the ‘Radcliffe Line’ was drawn during the 1947 Partition of India. Wagah is the official point of crossing where two great nations meet – the Republics of India and of Pakistan. It is the only open border road crossing which is officially accessible to both countries. It lies on the Grand Trunk Road, located at a distance of 28 kms from the city of Amritsar in the Punjab of India and Lahore district in the Punjab of Pakistan. The two neighbouring countries are separated by two heavy gates about 2 meters apart on either side.
